I made self-heating corn dogs at school for a assignment (we were talking about genetically modified foods) they were great except they were lethal to canarys and hamsters, and created the equivelant to a nuclear bomb if heated for too long.

Yes that could be an idea for blood ones but then we would need to have bone flavored as well because bones feel abused with all the attention blood gets.
